Hip Hop, a generator of use.
Regularly, through the movements of the body, the bounce, producing a flow, mixes intuition with subjectivity. “Flow” and “bounce” are words frequently used in Hip Hop culture, sometimes the usage tries to link itself to the form, but what can generate these so vague words? Can they have definitions? Can they give other readings to the movement?
Milø Slayers
After completing a Master’s degree in “arts and choreography” at the age of 28, Milø Slayers finished the “urban space” art course at the ISAC (Institut Supérieur des Arts et des Choréographies) in Brussels within the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. In this course, the focus was on bodily practices in a wide field between choreography and visual arts: how to use the body as a plastic material and as a receptacle for reflection?
This combination of pure physicality and philosophical inspirations has always inspired Sleyers’ work. From Descartes to Deleuze to the philosophy of Football Manager or non-Euclidean video games, he likes to be inspired by deep structures and their simultaneous deconstruction in order to translate these ideas in a rather intense, intuitive and visceral way.
